Owner & Executive Chef

Heyyy! I am the Owner & Chef of Philly Phixens, D. Kelly B.  I was born and raised in Philadelphia (Philly), the home of the Philly cheesesteak & hoagie.  I developed a love for cooking and Food at a young age, watching my Mom cook.  I left philly to serve my country in the Air force, using the skills I learned from my mom & enhancing them while serving in the military.  In addition to serving in the dining hall, my place was the place for my brothers and sisters in arms to gather, eat & fellowship.  in my travels,  I retired from the service, but my love for cooking remained & my dream was to share my gift of cooking with others in some other way.  once back home, I relocated to Illinois & civilian life began.   In addition to my fulltime job,  I was looked to as the Family Caterer & was encouraged to become just that.  I partnered with my niece to establish TKOoo Socialite creations, which offered event planning & catering.   I then relocated to Louisville to be close to my addies (Adult children).  Being the foodie that I am, I always enjoy the different delicacies that other Places offer.  However, my experience with the Local version  of the “Philly Cheesesteak” was less than pleasing.  I desired a true representation of my home’s delicacy & was given the vision to establish a place to get & experience an authentic Philly Cheesesteak & Hoagie.  Philly Phixens was the  birthed from this vision.
